Germany vs Italy Euro 2012 Battle in Semi-Finals Thursday

A Germany vs Italy Euro 2012 battle will erupt in the semi-finals this Thursday, fans learned today. A Germany vs Italy Euro 2012 semi-finals match on June 28 (en vivo start time 2:45 PM EST) was confirmed today after Italy defeated England in penalty kicks.
On Sunday, fans learned they will get a Portugal vs Spain Euro 2012 semi-finals match this week on June 27 followed the next day by a showdown of Germany vs Italy. The news came in the final moments of Sunday’s stellar showdown of England vs. Italy. England vs Italy ended normal time scoreless. But finally in penalty kicks, the Italians defeated the English 2-4.

Today, news analysts reminded fans that the two top teams in Group C have now both reached the semi-finals. Earlier this month, Spain and Italy finished first and second, respectively, in Group C with seven and five points. The last time the two countries met, they earned a draw on June 10. If both countries win their semi-finals match this week, the Euro 2012 finals will mark their first rematch of the June 10 game.

Since then, Italy hasn’t impressed news with its scoring. Italy earned a draw against Croatia on June 14, with a mere single goal. Four days later, the team delivered two goals to defeat Ireland.

Italy advances to the semi-finals with the lowest number of goals earned of any final four team. Italy has earned a mere four goals in its last four games this Euro 2012. That is not the case for Germany, however. Germany in its last four games has scored nine goals.

Germany comes into this semi-finals with the strongest scoring players of the tournament. But can Italy’s defense hold the Germans to win? The two kick off this Thursday from Warsaw.
